Don’t you wish you could simply just peel away imperfections and signs of ageing from your face and skin? A dermatological peel treatment does something similar. It is used to treat skin conditions, acne and also helps diminish signs of ageing.
What are chemical peels?
Chemical peels are generally a mix of different peels with active ingredients and varying pH levels made to suit a patient’s skin type, tone and needs. They can be used on the face, neck and hands. They are generally used to treat fine lines, age wrinkles, dark spots and wrinkles caused by exposure to sun. They also help reduce dark patches, freckles and mild scars on the skin.
How do they work?
The treatment causes the old and damaged outer layer of the skin to peel off, allowing new and younger skin to replace it which is healthier and less wrinkled
What happens post treatment?
The outer layer will be a little flaky as the old skin is peeling off and there might be slight redness and stinging sensation which will go away soon as the new skin replaces it. The new skin might be temporarily slightly sensitive to sunlight so take good care for a few days post treatment.
